The neon hums outside my door
Your voice is something I ignore
The streetlight stutters out your name
Then burns it down to just the frame
I press your number on the glass
But all I get is static grass
Your photo cracks across the screen
A face I’ve almost never seen
The saxophone drips blue and slow
My hands can't hold what used to know
The reverb drags me underground
And leaves no echo just the sound
The city glows for someone new
While I still wait for one last cue
Your ghost is plastered on the wet cement
And I'm too tired to repent
