The band tried to convey the right phrases musically, rhythmically & lyrically & to be concise in expression.Although some of the song ideas were inspired over a long period, the last 6 months proved conclusive, even to changing a word or two, at the recording sessions. Without Your Love 3:56 (M.Shiel) 1st draft penned, whilst driving late at night from Airlie Beach to Bowen. The radio started fading out, and the imagination kicked in, while the night sky & beautiful Northern Australian countryside, helped to inspire writing this song.2. An Outback way4:01 (M.Shiel) 1st draft written over a quiet beer, after a gig in Winton,West Qld, where Banjo Patterson wrote Waltzing Matilda. This song is based on the true story about the band truck, being surrounded by Kangaroos gently bumping all the way, almost to Longreach.3. Headin' Away 3:55 (M.Shiel) 1st written in Sydney & was played at city gigs, although it was refined with more chords & altered lyrics over time & evolved to be vastly different.4. Back Home 3:59(M.Shiel) 1st written the 2nd day of the 2400kms from Newcastle to Airlie Beach & driving all day, led to songwriting/daydreaming while it was extremely hot in the band truck.5. Burnin' Affair3:20 (M.Shiel) 1st take was whilst driving late at night, inspired by racing home on a long road, to your loved one.6. Tick Tock Tick 3:26 (M.Shiel) 1st draft appeared as the"economic bustle of the last twenty years" was gathering momentum, & the importance of balancing worktime & relaxation with your loved one, became harder to master.7. Side By Side 3:16 (M.Shiel) 1st written in a time of loss of the family lifestyle, he's on the run, emotionally troubled, & searching for answers for a lost loved one.8. Life On The Coast 3 :15 (M.Shiel) 1st draft appeared, while raising a young family, enjoying the wonderful opportunities on the east coast of Australia.9. Lonesome Kind 3:07 (M.Shiel) Almost autobiographical, it attempts to provoke answers to lifelong questions, & dealing with turmoil, restlessness & achievement.10. Travellin' Man 3:17 (M.Shiel) First written years ago as an ode to touring life & finished in 2011, while holidaying in Cairns, a song that tries to define the better aspects of travellin'.A big thank you to the people everywhere, that provided the inspiration for this musical-storytelling.The band wishes to thank Leo Fender,G&L, Apple, Les Paul, Adolph Sax, Mapex & Yamaha.
