[00:07.89]I was digging through the trash outside of the church
[00:11.34]Lower than I've ever been I'd never been worse
[00:15.06]When he walked around the corner with a styrofoam container
[00:18.58]Said hey I got this here for you
[00:21.66]Asked me where home was I just looked him in the eye
[00:25.28]He said get on in the truck don't worry it's all right
[00:28.98]Took me home introduced me to his wife
[00:31.37]She said fine you can stay the night
[00:35.79]Figured it'd just be a couple days
[00:38.83]We're coming up on five years this May
[00:42.89]We've been hunting we've been fishing he's been teaching me things
[00:46.53]Reckon you can say he really took me under his wing
[00:50.09]Hell I'm with him everywhere he goes
[00:52.51]Gave me a job picking up sticks and digging holes
[00:56.88]Made me a part of his family man I love his kids
[01:00.66]Even think I'm in some pictures hung up on the fridge
[01:04.13]Yeah he saved my life and if there's one thing I've learned since then
[01:10.20]Is that a good old country boy is a dog's best friend
[01:21.87]A couple blue-collar boys boy we're thick as thieves
[01:25.48]Anyone messes with him they're barking up the wrong tree
[01:29.15]They're gonna find out real quick he's got a dog in the fight
[01:33.06]And they're gonna have to deal with it
[01:35.77]Oh we got each other's backs that way it's like this unspoken pact we made
[01:42.82]Cause we've been hunting we've been fishing he's been teaching me things
[01:46.53]Reckon you can say he really took me under his wing
[01:50.08]Hell I'm with him everywhere he goes
[01:52.50]Gave me a job picking up sticks and digging holes
[01:56.87]Made me a part of his family man I love his kids
[02:00.70]Even think I'm in some pictures hung up on the fridge
[02:04.22]Yeah he saved my life and if there's one thing I've learned since then
[02:10.23]Is that a good old country boy is a dog's best friend
[02:15.65]Till the end and he tells me all the time that I'm his
[02:24.50]I sure hope he knows he's mine
[02:35.81]Cause we've been hunting we've been fishing he's been teaching me things
[02:39.47]Reckon you can say he really took me under his wing
[02:43.04]Hell I'm with him everywhere he goes
[02:45.46]Gave me a job picking up sticks and digging holes
[02:49.85]Made me a part of his family man I love his kids
[02:53.65]Even think I'm in some pictures hung up on the fridge
[02:57.17]Yeah he saved my life and if there's one thing I've learned since then
[03:03.16]Is that a good old country boy is a dog's best friend
[03:12.99]A dog's best friend
