Skimming Stones - Andy Skellam
Written by:Andy Skellam
Skimming stones across the bay
The sky lights up my mind's unmade
Let's find a boat and lift those chains then head out to sea
We snuck inside four crumbling walls
Dreamt that ruin was our home
But the roof was open to the storm
We walked to the shore
To sing our stupid song to the dawn
The stones we throw make hoops which grow and grow then disappear
On your ship I'll stow away until the coast is clear
The lighthouse blinks a warning eye
As daylight seeps into the sky
I so rarely see this time
I've been up all night
Stayed up howling at the moon
I'll sleep right through the afternoon
If time hates you
What's there to do but watch it all slide
And sing your stupid songs to the dawn
The stones we throw make hoops which grow and grow then disappear
On your ship I'll stow away until the coast is clear
The stones we throw make hoops which grow and grow then disappear
On your ship I'll stow away until the coast is clear
