Sky light so bright
Can’t sleep beneath your glow
A lonely man walks down the road
A flower that won’t grow
Students rent the sky next to mine
Red carpet of dreams ahead of their feet
Shouting freedom to anyone they meet
To anyone one who’ll listen
How can we know
Where the wild things go?
Trying to find
Our own piece of sky
Picture frame for the mountains and trees
Where there’s a grave, I see a leaf
And we’re our own thieves
Never been friends with destiny
Her poems suffice
But we’re more directed by the weather and light
It seems
How can we know
Where the wild things go?
Trying to find
Our own piece of sky
Never seen more
Life from the thirteenth floor
Oh to have birds as my neighbours once more
The people look like toys rushing around
Like they’ll never get where they’re going
I don’t like the sound of the city moaning
How can we know
Where the wild things go?
Trying to find
Our own piece of sky
I choose to reside in the right side of my brain
But science and progress don’t cease to be made
I choose to reside in the right side of my brain
But science and progress don’t cease to be made
My pieces of sky look different every day
My pieces of sky look different every day
My pieces of sky look different every day
Every day
My pieces of sky look different every day
My pieces of sky look different every day
My pieces of sky look different
