AFTER TOMORROW
Time gives no warning,
Just passes.
And when we finally see... it’s gone.
But was it really gone?
Or is it still returning in silence inside of us?
Last night I dreamed that time was one,
That stayed in me, not saying where from.
Today feels wrong — it should’ve been yesterday,
But wasn’t meant that way.
I’ve got a clock that points within,
Each second born from where thoughts begin.
I stand so still, but nothing comes,
Until I see that all will outrun.
After tomorrow, someday will be yesterday,
After tomorrow, someday will be yesterday.
And I? What will I be?
A memory, a plan, a dream set free?
A slight imperfection, or dust on the breeze?
I lost myself just to hide away,
I was the past before today.
Each step I took just led me on
To a future that’s forever gone.
My words grow old inside my mind,
My thoughts arrive uncalled, unlined.
Life writes itself on my diary’s page,
Each one a life beyond the stage.
After tomorrow, someday will be yesterday,
After tomorrow, someday will be yesterday.
And I? When will I be?
Am I the echo of time that flees,
A dream that sleeps in life’s hidden crease?
And I realized that waiting fades,
Even when what comes has changed its face.
They told me living means moving on,
But what if forward is a past reborn?
I’m part of myself still under creation,
A work that stopped for too much permission.
After tomorrow, someday will be yesterday,
After tomorrow, someday will be yesterday.
And I? What will I be?
A memory, a plan, or what’s left of me?
A slight imperfection, or dust on the breeze?
After tomorrow… when I’m no longer mine…
Maybe someone will read me,
Like a poem with no sign,
Like a time that never ends,
Like a love that came back
Before it left again.
After tomorrow, someday will be yesterday,
After tomorrow, someday will be yesterday.
