A summer moon in December
waiting on the clouds to pass
a purple haze hung above us
darkens ’til the night is black
there was a summer moon in the winter until the sunshine eases through
you left me waiting on a postcard signed always & forever P.S. I miss you
until the sun goes down beyond the sea
a shadow in the dark covers you & me
underneath the stars there was moonlight on the beach
ooh ooh summer moon
summer moon
ooh ooh summer moon
looking up into a blue sky
where the cliff edge comes to the shore
if summer love lasts a lifetime
then this isn’t goodbye ‘cuz I’m forever yours
until the sun goes down beyond the sea
a shadow in the dark covers you & me
underneath the stars there was moonlight on the beach
ooh ooh summer moon
summer moon
ooh ooh summer moon
