Playing My Guitar

When I was just a boy,

I didn’t want any toys

‘cause even then my greatest joy

was playing my guitar.

I practiced every night.

Just had to get it right.

Sometimes the morning light would find me

playing my guitar.

I’ve been from coast to coast --

From Maine to Thousand Oaks

doing the thing that I love most.

That’s playing my guitar.

And after every show,

it’s down the road I go

living the only life I know --

playing my guitar.
