The late bus rolls like a tired song
I watch the city slide along
My reflection shakes in window light
A small brave face in borrowed night
I thought I’d fall apart for sure
But here I am, a little more
Alive than yesterday could see
A gentler version learning me
Late bus, early heart
Still healing from the start
I won’t blame the dark for being dark
I’ll just carry my own spark
A couple laughs in backseat hush
Their joy is soft, it doesn’t rush
I smile too, not out of spite
But because I’m still alright
If love is timing, we were close
Now I’m a bloom that slowly grows
No need to hurry, no need to prove
I’ll arrive in my own groove
