When the old
Scroll was unfolded in the
Palace hall he was struck
Deep by the wrath that their fathers had
Gathered
Robes were torn
Wide as his tender heart was
Shaken and he bowed
Low with a cry before the Lord of truth
You heard his
Tears when the warning had found him
You saw the
Softness awake within his soul
He found
Peace when humility
Met Your justice mercy spoke
Calm in the midst of
Deserved fire
Through the grave
Word came a promise in the
Darkness not because
Sin was made light but because he had
Listened
Then Your peace
Rested on the days he walked be
Fore You and his heart
Burned to restore the house again
You shaped a
King by the weight of Your Scripture
You gave him
Zeal for the covenant once lost
He stood
Clean with a trembling that
Honored heaven mercy gave
Time to the land be
Neath him
You still re
Ceive every heart that softens
You still draw
Near to the one who mourns his sin
We will
Bow to the God whose word
Restores us grace can turn
Tears to a road of
Return
