The night—
was new.
It was as if … God took His hands
And, dipped them in hues of blue
He Van Gogh’s the sky —
With each prophetic brush stroke
The firmament spoke …
of His power and glory
Even constellations and galaxies
bowed and confessed
Holy … Holy.
If you ever wonder what God’s smile
looks like …
The Bible describes how a star
appeared in the eastern sky
Which was heaven’s way of … winking at earth
Reminding us that
God’s promises—even awaited births—always arrive on time.
The night —
Was still.
Even the wind took a back seat and said—
Tonight, we chill.
For the prophecies revealed That He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
The only gift That didn’t come with a gift receipt Wrapped in unconditional cloths of love — as he lays in a manger — there is no return back to sender
This gift is not broken But this gift is called Kinsman redeemer Since man had a hard time coming to God, God “prime” the delivery And said I will come to them.
That night – Hopeless hearts now believe in Him
That night –
As the children whisper
“The Messiah is Here”
Their childlike faith penetrated stony walls…
And muted generational fears
Can you hear —
Angels descending from heaven to earth
Even the flapping of their wings
synchronized to the heartbeat of our Savior’s birth
Can you see –
Shepherds leaving their flock
Their feet barely touching the ground
Onlookers shout: Why are you running?
Because I’ve got to see what the Lord has told us about.
The night –
Was so divine.
Behold our King.
The glory was so heavy in the room
That even the wise men
Fell on their knees
Their own understanding couldn’t even stand
… but had to bend for you
one by one
they worshipped you.
One by one gold, frankincense, and myrrh …for you
one by one
Mary and Joseph were in awe of you.
One by one
angels sing to you.
Jesus …
From age to age
Jesus …
Your name, goodness, mercy, and love reverberates
through our past, present, and future
Jesus … more than friend.
He took the broke and became kin Jesus He is the light He’s the night light to our dark nights
That night –
Was like a wild fire As word spread of His arrival, tears swelled in their eyes
Though weeping tried to endure
Joy took over that night
His birth was the answer to all of our needs
One Savior, One miracle, One King
