Worn leather boots leave temporary prints in fresh fallen snow
Rusted weather vanes point directions the wind no longer follows
Tall grass bends in waves across hills with no one to see
Cracked window panes distort views of gardens gone wild
Old wooden docks extend into lakes that have since receded
Faded murals peel from walls of buildings no longer standing
Thin crescents of moonlight outline ridges of distant mountain ranges
Empty bird nests rest in branches that lost their leaves months ago
Slow moving clouds cast traveling shadows across harvested fields
Forgotten footpaths vanish beneath layers of fallen pine needles
