Time is filled with swift transition, naught of earth unmoved can stand
Build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God's unchanging hand
When your journey seems so weary, and your friends misunderstand
Take it to the Lord in prayer now, hold to God's unchanging hand
Trust in Him who never leaves you
He will guide you to the end
Hold to His hand, God's unchanging hand
Hold to His hand, God's unchanging hand
Build your hopes on things eternal
Hold to God's unchanging hand
Covet not this world's vain riches that so rapidly decay
Seek to gain the heav'nly treasures, they will never pass away
When your earthly journey's ended, and your race on earth is run
He will give you stars of glory, you will hear His sweet well done
Through the shadows of the valley
He will lead you safely home
Hold to His hand, God's unchanging hand
Hold to His hand, God's unchanging hand
Build your hopes on things eternal
Hold to God's unchanging hand
Oh, His hand will never fail you, His love will never end
He's a faithful, faithful Savior, a true and constant friend
When the storms of life are raging, and you cannot understand
Just reach out, oh reach out, and hold to His unchanging hand
