Through the misty forest trail I climb
Up the road that winds through time
Where the mountains whisper to the sky
And the eagle spreads her wings to fly
Barley Lake, wild and free
Hidden heart of mystery
Where the deer roam and the waters wake
Spirit of Glengarriff — Barley Lake
Down below, the valley dreams
In your glassy depths the sunlight gleams
Fish swim deep where shadows play
Untouched by man, the old gods stay
Barley Lake, wild and free
Hidden heart of mystery
Where the deer roam and the waters wake
Spirit of Glengarriff — Barley Lake
When the mist falls low and the world stands still
You can hear the songs of the glen and hill
Echoes of time in the mountain air
Heaven feels so close up there
Barley Lake, wild and free
Forever keep your soul in me
Through the clouds and the stars you take
My heart to Barley Lake
