Everything
left behind by fire,
names and meanings
burned to quiet ash.
In a place
where no one waits anymore,
I stand
in the smallest breath of silence.
I had no reason
left to keep on living,
but no reason
to disappear, either.
Still, I remain—
a breath I thought had ended
rises once again
above the hours turned to dust.
Even if no one sees me,
it’s alright.
I am here.
I am alive.
The fallen city
has no voice,
and the sky
is still red.
I am not grand,
not strong,
but I carry the reason
I did not break.
The word “hope”
feels too big,
and this is
smaller than that—
just one
simple truth:
I have not
disappeared.
Still, I remain
at the edge of this world—
not a restart,
but a residue.
Even without promising tomorrow,
it’s alright.
This moment
is enough.
