A little river's on the glass
And running to the sill
The drops have joined and found a road
That winds across the pane
A silver thread that bends and pools
And starts to run again
I trace it with a fingertip
From top to bottom, slow
Little rivulet, run down
Carry all the grey
The rain comes down to water earth
And doesn't turn away
The little lamb is watching too
Its head tips to the side
As one bright river meets the next
And both of them go wide
The maples past the water shine
Like paint that's still not dry
Little rivulet, run down
Carry all the grey
The rain comes down to water earth
And doesn't turn away
The rain that falls will not return
Until the earth is fed
So every river on my glass
Is bringing seed and bread
Mmm... mmm... mmm
Little rivulet, run down
Carry all the grey
The rain comes down to water earth
And doesn't turn away
Little rivulet, run down
Carry all the grey
The rain comes down to water earth
And doesn't turn away
A little river's on the glass
And I am watching still
