From the ashes of the end we breathe again, beneath a fading silver sky
Though the years drift by, still whisper the names we carved in dust
The stagnant air grows thin then deep again, as light and shadow intertwine
Silent clouds drift low and wide
Their edges trembling into line
Past memories lose their color and turn black and white
I feel like there are so many things that I've lost and can never get back
Someone was swept away by the wind stirring up dust
What should I do?
Everything I see is gray
The world washed pale and blank beneath this fading sky
But if I climb that distant hill
The world beyond might be blooming with hidden colors
In my dream I was an innocent little girl chasing a stray balloon
When I woke I wanted to gather up the fragments of the memories I’d kept
It felt as if something urged me to move before they slipped away
So I planted my feet
The days I knew, the scenes I once passed through so often
And all the people I loved, still resting softly in my heart
They remain a part of me, but I’m not walking now to search for them
A faint wind brushes against my cheek
