Be still, on your first day on earth

We who were the dancing babies

Could never have

Controlled our unconscious

It was formed a billion moons ago

Life begins with a blossom

Of self-sacrifice

The mother breaking herself

Into holy pieces of paradise

As the human recipe carries on

Be still, on your first year on earth

We who were the acrobatic

One year olds

Finally separate from our mothers

When we recognize

Ourselves in mirrors

Then one day you learn

You are not your eyes

You are not your face

You are not your skin colour

You are not even your race

You are your learning

You are your soul bathing

In the milk of yearning

Breaking bread with language

The holy crust of ritual and imagination

Imagination that will

Somehow set the world free

Be still, in your first life on earth

Stretch the umbilical

Cord away from your birth

Stretch it till it snaps

Don't be surprised

If you see yourself reflected

In your neighbours eyes

Don't be afraid of the voices

They are the echoes of the dream

The dream is not a freak of nature

It is the guiding spirit

Talk to the characters in your dreams

The unconscious is more imaginative

Than all of woke human reality

Are you really a separate human being?

This imagination

Belongs to the universe

It is a strange dream

Of unity and freedom

Dreams are the coaxial cables

That connect our eternal visions

Be still, with your first love on earth

We who were the petrified teenagers

Could never have controlled our hearts

The rush of blood

Is volcanic and ecstatic

Be still with your last love on earth

We who were the debaters

And the painters -

Could never have imagined

The beginning or the end

The truth was always in the middle

Be still on your first day in Heaven

Was it a good life as

One of God's children?

You decide. For my truth?

Show me your virtue first

And together we will heal division

Unity, mythology, consciousness

Self-transformation

If the soul asks

The universe answers

Nature loves courage

And nature loves a dancer
