Too late, it’s part of you now.
Throw it down the well, and watch the water swell.
Subtle as a sledgehammer,
It turned the water sour and soaked you when you fell.
Don’t you know who I am?
If you do, remind me.
(Do you not know who I am?
The words echo and expand,
I see all I command from a
Crow’s nest, just surveying the land).
With a mouth like a hornet’s nest,
I crushed all that I saw, then I got the rest.
But the walls remember how I hung like a frame
To an image of who I never became.
Don’t you know who I am?
If you do, remind me.
(Do you not know who I am?
The words echo and expand,
I see all I command from a
Crow’s nest, just surveying the land).
