Another Autumn

Footsteps echo on the frozen track

Where the fields once shimmered gold

Smoke curls from a distant shack

As the morning breaks the cold

Last harvest whispered low and sweet

Now silence holds the sky

We trace the edge of memory’s beat

Where autumn said goodbye

Another autumn, caught between

A year that fades, a light unseen

The paddy’s breath beneath the snow

Tells stories only old winds know

Lanterns sway on quiet eaves

And prayers hang in the air

The frost remembers fallen leaves

Still dancing, barely there

Past the paddy, through the haze

Another autumn, lost in days

Snow on straw and fields asleep

Time lays secrets we can’t keep

Another autumn, soft and deep

A promise wrapped in winter’s sleep

The year begins where it once fell
