Boundaries

When I started out

I was inside out

Anything could break me

I tried to be a light

But every firefly

Burns out eventually

At the end of the day

After all that you gave

And you don’t get back

What you gave away

Put myself through hell

For everyone else

Nothing left for myself

So I built up these boundaries

Around me

Yeah i built these walls

Never let them fall

When you see through these boundaries

For who i am

I'm losing track of time

Afraid to step outside

Into a sky that’s falling

My mind escapes

tells me that it’s safe

But my heart still holds it hostage

So I built up these boundaries

Into those rooms that I keep locked away

The corners I leave all the messes I’ve made
