Evening Shadow Play

The sun was high, but now it’s leaning low

Touching the line where the golden grasses grow

I look at the ground and what do I see

A giant shadow stretching out from me

As the sun dips down to say goodbye

And the purple ink starts to fill the sky

The world turns black, and the lights go dim

Shadows are dancing on the forest’s rim

But don't be afraid of the closing of the day

With a tiny light and a steady hand

We can build a magic, silhouetted land

Even in the dark, even in the deep

Like the shadows are walls in a narrow room
