Hello Guys
Welcome to castcle
Which youre about to hear is the second episode of our interview with kevin
So in the second half of the interview
You hear kevin recommend the jororan an peters son in pascast and his own pocast caught thrive
Hope you enjoy it okay
So thats the second pocast and a third one is probably the most many one is from jordan peterson
Yes yes so doctor peterson
Yeah
Ah doctor or peterson
Right this poccast seriously i am you know it was month of ago that we met each other for the first time
And then you introduced pepetersons pocast to me and ive tried so many times and until now i can get something out of it
And to to see a sense of balance
I go to different channels online
Different communities online es to they are les feeback on peterson
And for a lot of people
They say that are the interstent each word and doctor peter son
Son speech
But and untithey all connected totogether
When they are in a senttheyve lost their mind like theyve ve st st a cluclue im one of them
Like im calling one of them and uh its just because im not that um philosopically capable
So thats such shame
Because is its just a shame
So thats something with a lot of fundamental disciplines
Just as you mentioned for example history
For example psychology
Gy psychology
Even its just these disciplines seems not that helpful at first
Thanks
Right
But as you go deeper so so progressed
Further you start to realize these are the most important disciplines that you need to dive into at some point inting your life
So yeah
So thats what what exactly i feel so its just even though preparing our conversation takes a lot of time for me
But i think is such a pleasure
Because its just like heart core learning is just like serious studying
好的 的 好的
Yeah
Trying to get something out of it
And its just um
Its just done on me
That everything is actually very connected
Because uh ababyou can categorize doctor petersince poadcasting into you know spiritual or rereligious essential
But its
Its is fundamental
Essensenal
As ah you know faith or you know understanding of self of cautious is so essential
Yeah Yeah
Actually
I wouldnt classify as spiritual or faith
You know i mean there is a whole other category that is spspiritual
Faith
Which i also listen to
But i wouldnt classify john peterson
As that you can definitely um recognize that he himself is on a journy for truth
And actually
And
And i hope a lot people understand us too really
When we talk about religion and faith
When you built all it down
Thats really
What it is
Its really about a journey for truth
Its not just about personal truth
Its just about
Is there such a thing as truth
And what is the truth that we should be finding thats really
What fafaith
Reregion is supposive about
But its of course today built up with a lot of other things
Johnn pearson
He approaches it in that way
He
He is so tennacous ous
Hes so a fierce
When it
When its about the pursuit of truth
And of course
He utilizes his intense
Intellect intense and just sophisticated mind to apply
But what hes doing is his hes looking for truth
And hes
What hes doing is hes actually share with us
What hes found through all the different lengthses
That he applies onto one particular subject for the presict truth
Of course
In the end where he gets to is s profound
Yes
Hehe actually better frame petersons podcast
Its more like a wisdom poadcast
Yes its insaid been being about faityes
Yes hes
He is diving into faith matters
Or hes diving into subject matters
That actually the worlds fafaths are built on
And hes not discarding peoples believes
But he is going and looking at the subject matter
And hes trying to find what the original truth are actually for the purposes of enlightenment in faith
He himself
I think is a spirital person
But he wouldnt really define himself in that way
Hes his spiritual um
But i think the way he defines himself is really different
Hes definitely one specific religion
Hes an academic
Hes straight up an academic
And so hes an academic working through religious texts and wisdom texso hes s hehes an
Hes not an academic
Thats an atheist right today we actually we see a lot of um academic is aatheist who and again thats actually its own belief system um trying to make an argument for like religious things
But from an atheist prospect jordan peers is not that jordan peers in himself will tell you
Hes not an atheist who he definitely believes in things um
And so hes been so honest in the procedure truth
So thats johnan peerson
I would also say the john peersonons poccare are also raw
I mean he shoshoes from the hip
I mean it is he opens us mouth
And its like
Its like opening up like a firehose its like its big volume of water
That projects out
But its a volume of words and for free
And its one big stream of consciousness
Yeah
But thats conconsousness is so deep and so profound
But goonta go back and really listn to really
Really understand what hes trying to say i love it
Because its so rich
I mean how
How many people in your life
Have you meet like that
That very few
And so when hes offering it
When
When you can meet something like that
And for free it
Because its a free pocket
Why
Why would you not to meet brilcpeople
And think
Think so much
And think so deely ly
Why would not
Not so
So for me
You know the johnpepeerson son hits me on many levels the reason
Why like it right now would you not course i come at it also as an academic i like to
I like and i think you can feel that now from all the progress i listen to
And all the things i do um id like to be critical about everything
But the criticaless is not about tearing ings down for the sake of tenings down thats the wrong purpose of being critical and have a critical nature
The right reason of having critical nature is of course to find wisdom of truth
Thats
Thats
Thats an important mental exercise that we all have to be its so im attracted to peterzen
Because hes so critical um and of course im attracted to the subject matter that he is approaching which is of course religious text and in faith tex um
Because um im
Im a practicing faith base person
I have you know and
And im deep in my own spirituality
And im also not threatened by the way that he examines the texts that my fitter built on um and a lot of people are a lot of people who have a faith get very defensive
Because he starts to pick at things that maybe you dont think that deeply about and actually you built your life on yeah im not afraid of that i want to go down that rabbit hall with him
I want to understand how he thinks about that recenme thing for the purposes of helping me reflect on how i think of fiit doesesshake ke my faith
In fact
It allows me to play with my faith
It allows me to explore the deep pillars and tenants of what i truly believe and truly let me be critical about it and truly help me understand
Exactly what i believe
On why believe
So it helps me review my believes
Now heres the thing
Theis nothing
That he says that discounts
There is not one time in any of his episodes
That he says thats not true
What he says is
Is actually
Well actually
There are different ways of understanding that
So what he actually does is he is um in sysypedia of interpretations and just interprets the same thing from many many
Many
Many different perspectives
Whether its again that biological
So he says
Well you know
When you
When you see that work
Then you
You stand
And that perperthat that
That biologically there are brain is functing this way
And in the development like
Like the
The nnapses on this side of the brain are impacting that
And therefore thats why you know they are
For example
You know in the pisode were talking about
In adomevers ally
And he goso deep into the psychology of why human beings are psytotexyeah he course you
You should know
And you should definitely bring that context back into the context of how you interpret text
Yeah
Right for example
And so he goes deep into psychology
That he goes deep per into biology
Then he goes deep per the history and prehistory
And then he goes into things like semiotics
He helps you understand
Well the epeople say that that what was the origonal language what was the meaning of that language
How people interpreting it and so that the the multllens part of course speaks to me as well out because with i get a geek out with all these different lenthses
Which of course in my own personal life journey and im to d importthan and ii know cloto to him
I mean his lengthses are way further than mine
Way more imppleant and very impdense
I and appappreciated
But i appreciate because i also have my own lenthses
And im able to sharped my lengthses based on his um im im able to learn and acquire new lenths
That i never had before nor what i particularly spend the time really getting aphd on evolutionary psychology
I wouldnt do that although having said that i have spent time try to learappappluluate psychology
Because its very important and very interesting
But to hear an expert use it and too reference it
It actually siside learning
Ii get to learn more about sychology
I get to learn more about psychology
Even though i did not have delree in them by listento him an an expert utilizit i wllin in those psychotives
And it gives me much greater exper understanding and interpretation of the text
Yes and uh an understanding my faith
You know so john pearson is not a faith
Like its not a faith poadcast
He is an academic poadcast ah hea professor or the university of toronto um you know and he is such aa big following because hes not piissing anyone off well acache
Hes s isisa of okh
But
But i would say such a big hes not
Hes not rejected anyone tomital hes honouring
Hes honouring the pursuit
I think hes the way that he pursuit shines light to the reserve us
Who are faith based people to really help us and encourages to also pursume right because if we dont really know what we believe and what are we doing every days like were tototal core values
Below core values
Honestly is belief
So billiammelinda they believe
Everyone should have equal opportunity there is a belief
Underneath that now thats a belief
That billiamlinda have about why equal is important
That theres a belief
嗯
That has nothing to do with rationality is just something that you found as important
And theres something
There thats a truth
That cannot be um
Um uh disuh dissected even more is what we call things like original truth
Or
Or first principles in mathematics you call them first principles
Thats what joordan petersons about
But is our first principles and mathematics we do first principles of life
Which is so important for everyone you know and ororan peterson is just hes just so special
At
At at momoment in the world
Theres inasure
People can
Can what
What does
Does so is a pleasure and an honor to listen to his podcaast
And to go deep into how he think so of thing
Yes
I mean before petersons podcast
I often listen to philosophy poccast
Such as philosophy bite from a mates
You can
You can get a sense out of it
This is very snipppeof from phochophical studies
But um hes trying so hard
Hes very best to distill all kinds of theories like all kinds of researches
But very sucinct sentences and phrases
And trying to tell you that um heres a relationship between myth
Religions or history and peoples
Purpose of light so if we i mean
Not everyone especially in china
Not everyone is religious
So if you and even you know some people just hate the word
Religion or religious
Because they think there are some negativity
Or you know in that specific in that word
Its sound superstitious
Even though basically every chinese is superstisous to some excright
Can you say say fsensuous is susubsiright
Its super substiious
So its not about superstition is about faith is about the purpose
Like the fundamental purpose that drives you to wake up to do things
To spend every minute to make every second count
Thats the thing that petersince try ying to investigate i think
I think you hit on something really really important
Like the reason
Why this politics is so important
For both that there are faith based and religious
As well people that are not faith based religious
For those that are faith bed and religious
It really fafaith in what you believe for those are
Are faith base and religious
Its just that fafaith rerealize
Its really about faith based and religious
Its just that
Its not part of a organize religion
You actually have faith in something you just never realized it as so jordon ppr
Since pockets really helps you realized were the things that i
You actually believe we are all
We all believe in stuff
But maybe though some faith basase people actively explore what they believe a lot of religious
People dont they just take it as a i dont know control mechanism or a way of living life
And they dont actually ask why
Which of course gives religion a bad name
Which is why i will dont want to join religion
Because they think its just a control system
Which is not supposed to be right
But the realities that for everyone else thats not faith based
Or doesnt call msoufaapes
And doesnt call mmself religious
And think think hes is built on rebelies
But hes realized it and jojoin pepand is a wonderful middle ground
Because hes not a know
Know a traditional religious or faith person
Hes an academic
But hes able to go and
And picit through real life that is not just religious
Real life
Its real life
Real life
And really understand how things are actually believe based
And i think hes just so courageous
Because he shares a lot of things
That are related to himself for example
But he got inspired to write maps of meaning which kevin strongly religious
嗯
In the first place
Because he suffered from a crisis of faith
But theres the time that he was young right so this kind of like suffering just you know motivated him to
To
To diexse ep
And then to investigate deep into face
Into beliebelieand then he came up like after spending maybe decades
Or you know a lot of years literally on the book
And then trying to try his best to
To get exposed
And then try to get everybody know that time
He actually has some understanding in explplation tions yeyeyeah
So thats why fite amazing
Because a lot ed will think that for example
Academia and religion are separate
And he has shown us that its ratically ally his investigate both of them like religious people or faitthous people afraid of academiicbecause of course a lot of academics
Not a lot acah
So thats loud ones a lowed academics are um atheist
But theres acactually a lot of academis
Faith basase is well right but
But the traditional way of understanding is that there is no room for faith in academia
And its all just about critical reasoning uh and so if its about faith
Its
It doesnt have a space in critical thinking
But thats not peterson
Pepesson
Kes
Kes ruel thinking and applies it two faith
But again like he said in his own journey
He has had a crisis of faith
And heres the thing
And this is really important
We should never be afraid of a crisis of faith
Crisis of faith is the opportunity for us to it
It goes back to that word
Innovation
Our own life and our own person
The moment of innovation of our lives could always comes from a crisis of face
And those
Those
That are afraid of of ressive faith
That actually afraid of their life growing for those like joordan
Peterson uh and myself is well ii had a long journeand deep journey
And critically reviewing my faith
And pushshing cricrisis
Fafah h and you can
And years
Years
Years
That lots of experience
Ces ive learned that hidden peterson has that
It is through your christ of faith
That makes you a much better person
And a much more peaceful person
You find peace
Because you find that hidden truth
And the true truth
The original truth
And that you can really rest on
And you can build your life upon
呃
Those are the deep wisdoms
So i highly recommend this podcast
Even though i know like less than one percent of people would be able to understand and listen to it
I get it
But at least im be able
Today shshare ah how meaningful it is to me
Yes
This peaceful bits is really interesting
Because you know that young people nowadays in china
Likes to talk about 魔呀佛系
Like the feeling then
But so this kind of like feeling then or feeling seaceful is not that positive
Because its sort of like extremely pessimistic like losing entitiful
Like hopeless
And then you settle down like feeling hopeless
And then the enless less
But so what you just said about feeling peaceful with yourself or being balanced with yourself is more like very pofident or very positive like you know what was important to you
And then you know where your re acelife
And then youre finally settled with who you are
And then you try to proceed
And then just you try to go on thats totally different kinds of feeling peaceful
Yeah
Ah what you think you
You get that sense that this thing to all the different poteast than i listen to uh you know its interestingly
Toouble of cy and saffect youre right
The The
The situation that we have to day with the next generation is that more and more than are um getting more more pessimistic
Basically theyre losing hope
And theyre getting desperate and many other places in the world
That i go all over the world
And i meet lots of different young people
And you hear the same stories
You know and know what i find from what i listen to and also my personal journey
And what im calall to
What my lifes work is about
Is about
Helping people find hope right
Right in a world
That sucks any chance of hope
Sucks out the light
Where you have to be forcy just has to be so best best misjust just let everything roll is about thats
Now what life could be or should be right
It doesnt have to be that way
Yes you know and the things
I listen to have taught me that
Show me that it has been manifesit in my own life
I know it through practice
And so im im in a place
And i happen in a place
Where i just
I just hope to be a share
That with more more people
That you
You can capture
Hope
Its not hard
Its not far
Its not expensive
Its right there in finite of you
You just need
Need
Need to
So how to tiso yes so really
Whats so precious about peers
Son after lectures
Speeches with discussions or even fierce spetes with
With different kinds of scholars
Ininfluenwers
He still believe in the power of human being
And hes very still very active
Tive s still very presitive
So this is really
Really speciable thing
This really very citiand thats so
So special
Its not titiand and but the great thing is
The positiveness is not from blind faith
The pousiveness is from the critical thinking
Hes
Hes deduced rationally all the way down to understanding why
And in the deepest wisdom of why
Why he recognizes hope i mean
Shinn that already be something for all of us to know that some of the smart people
People within the world
Through philosophy
And everything else they go all away down to the most basic tenants of life
And in that they find hope
And im not saying that everything he says
Is sure you know
And i hope that ive mean
That clesure
You dont
I dont agree with everything he says
But i appreciate the process
And him going through his process
Allows me to go through this process
And allows me to understand what i believe
And i understand why i believe it right so um
But its worth the discussions
Worth the discourses
Worth exexchange shsharp each each up that thats what that popocast is for me
Me also the only thing
That uh the listeners may enjoy
Is that um dont imagine pepeters
And is some kind of like a pundit or guru
With only good at speaking academic language he speaks very coloqual
Yeah
Language well well and is exexpression is guage age
Know so its sparkling
Its just sparkles thouss in your mind
Thats you know associate such a myth
Like such a religious story to some like real life or very practical interpretation
So i actually take a lot of notes from uh his speech basically which is another form of scratching suryes
Yes but its enjoyable
I mean its great fun
Yeah
Ah yeah
If you got the time in the effort
In the focus
Yeah
But it is its worthwhile and so much more worthwhile than watching atv series
Yeah
You know you really get a lot more out of it
Its going to last your life
嗯嗯
Lets talk about to a podstter
Yes so kevin is a popcastter
Hes not just a professional poccast listener is a poccaster
I listearand and he has published um he has released his pocstter on ismaya both the chinese version and english version
So lets talk about
And it do such popastter
Lets talk about the research behind the pokistter
Yes yes so uh my pcstis called thrive uh and you can find out the mamaasa or itunes or uh that is um it is nt chinese english uh
And i have tetebehind it ah and i have to talk about the research first before the pocastter
Yes and think think can
Can it
It the other poccaster
I listen to when the things that weve been talking about today um the things i care about you h when tecame to china
I wanted to be involved in what was changing
Was happening
And i think ive done that and ive been at the forefront with youth and understanding um moather life is like and and ive been in a place beijing and shanghai
Where bright people are gathering i found exactly what i was hoping for i these places
Beijing and shhahai in especially beijing is a place
Where really amazing people gather and not just chinese
But people from molof the theyve been gathering here from many years
And actually today even just if you just talking about the start up market right because when ive got here fifteen years ago
There wasnt start art market um
It was just a lot of really bright people just trying to create that creators
Yes
Raw creators
And of course now today
If you look at
You know
If you google the listing of the top start up markets in the world right so welcome valley
And then beijing and israel like its like districtly places
Um
And so we have
We have in last fifteen teen really seseen this gathering really bright people
And iand ive been privilege to meet a lot with them
And to talk with them
And to understand their story
Understand where they come from
And you know
Wow
Ive been here for last fifteen years
Theres been a burning quesuh
It came from my own life
And it was simply this which is you know i got here
And im in
In
In the middle of such excitement and change
And i ask myself
One question
I looked around me
I said why are the only one here from my neighborhood or from my network
From all my friends
Everyone had the same opportunities
I did
I not
Not smarter than anyone else like actually
A lot of my friends are had better marks than i did in
In school
A lot of them you know
And everyone has privilege like you know middle family and which fessionals
Great degreree
Where why i the one here
Here
Where res everyone else
And i start to ask all the other bright people around me in beijing and in shanghai
It all is amazing people
Entrepreneurs
Thought
Leaders
H the world
Crazy things
Ted speakers
You know people that are people
You know
Know h the world economy for unlike just amazing people and
And asked the same question
Like hey
How many people that you grow up with which is doing stuff
Amazing stuff
And all of them had the same answer
Which is everybody just me
And that led me to an important question
Which is why ask why just a few of us
What makes us different than everyone else it wasnt money
You know i didnt come from a very wealthy family
And actually many of the people i had interviewed and denither
It wasnt um privilege
It wasnt power
It wasnt iq
So what exactly moves somebody to pursue greater things in the world
I mean
I alloed my friends are today
Lawyers
Doctors and engineers and those are all good things
But in the end
End theyre doing
Is theyre chasing sing middle class dream
I mei just want to live a life
And i just want to have a house
In a car
And just live a pleasant life
And not motivated to pursue the bigger things in the world
And the things are important
Not just to themselves
Maybe too more people to themselves
So i asked that question
I start to see that theres something different
And i want to fifigout what i was on the flip site
On the same side working at authology these many years
I start to see something as well i start to see
And we talked about it through this pcast a lot
A whole generation
Who have the iq
Who actually have the finances a lot
People are well offer many people in the middle class city educated fairly well um have the opportunity
And yet dont stand up
Weve heard it again
Again in this pockets
And i said every day in my work
Young people have all the opportunity
And do not set p do
Do not dream
What im pcome ong here is dream
What
What i fell through the research
Over the years of that the young people
The next generation
They are dreaming to getting smaller
They dont even dare to dream today
They only focus s on survival
But when we this
This because facfacts and figures tell us that actually
This is the most privileged generation especially in china
In the history of chinese people
This generation of trinesppeople is the most ppvilege
Most everything going for them
The most educated
The most amount of income
The most amount of time
Everything opportunity
Everything
And yet they are the least dreaming generation
And so i saw
On both sides i saw one side
Theis a story
And theres a truth
And theres a wisdom that can be learned from those bright people
That are coming here pursuing something greater themselves
And on this side
I see that theres a growing generation
That is having less unless of a chance of catering
That and i wanted to change that i saw
That has the big issue that i could take part in we talked about they gates foundation today
And then
And their core values is about um equtive opportunity
The theme of my life has always been other than impact
And in over the years
What has grown out of impact is one thing
Which is in order for me to pursue impact um
I need to think strategically about another key theme and key word
And that key word is leverage because im not billiamindicate i dont have billions of dollars with how can not in their shoes
I can only think about what i can do
And i honestly
I truly hope
And i trubelieve
Ve everyeveryththks
Similarly
Which is what leverage with what you have right
How can you leverage what you have something might not
Not everything thing might not are people in there
But you have something how can you leverage it for greater
And so ive always been about leverage
Because which is ii came to china
Which is why im working with young
Because so to me working in the place in the world
Where most things are changing with the segment of people in that ter
And is seleing the change younage people im positioning myself for the most leverage
If i can change something with this group of people
Actually the ripple effects of impact are much greater
Thats what leverage es because so me working
I found
Found that
And i is this disconnect on hope
What we talked about of dreams
And i want to understand what is it in our upering in our lives
As we grow up that germinates
And grows um a sense of confidence
The ability to dream um and and also uh sense of self
So that you know how to navigate and make your own path in this world
When the world like we have today is always
Always ging
And they know always chaoic
You know the reason why we have these pessimists the reason why people on dreams
Because they see chaos
And theyre frightened
Right we
We talour foceas its basily that forces basic people that see chaos are frightened
And theyre try to cope with that chaos
And that risk by just saying im
Im not doing ing
嗯
But the the opportunity
And its not just opportunity
The crisis that we have today is
If china is going to be an impackful nation to the world
If chinas going to reforforard ard itself self
Its going to need to figure out how to find hope
But its going a need to figure how to build individuals people that dream
And so i want to to be a proof
That so what i did
Because i started a research project
And i did it outside the company
Because i it was a persarch passion
And i had learned how to do research
Now coming the reydology and a professional research
So so i as well do some research
So ii build a search project
That i conducted research for five years
I found some truly amazing individuals
Really outlives people that are doing crazy amaduals
People who come from very himal backgrounds
And not privilege
And not special but they have built fifial life
Or i would say highly impacacful lives
And and i
And i went
And i decoded i peal back
And
And underunderood
And and d to fiure out what are the things that made them
Who they are
And also what are the experiences that enable them
To develop that way that journey led me of course deep into their family histories
The personal histories and was their family histories
All their histories
And of course i love history
So that makes it easy um but im able to peal back the psyche
You know again people i jorain peerce in people like dancar and really help because their findings
And able to pick through
And and are the key experiences
And what are the key things that link to motivation
Link to identity
Link to value creation
What are those things
And so
So after five years
Ive
Ive been able to um christalialiinto
Um my findings
And my findings are but in a podcast
In a podcast series
And and so my findings are boil down into um mifinings
I call thrive
And its its twelve distinct traits of thriving individuals
And also ten um developmental experiences of these thriving ic viduso so i dont fy twelve things
Twelve traits
Were talking about characteristics of
Of perperof these people
People are different than normal people
People so the normal people talk about our people that are pursuing their life
You try to live a be successful as the as the way the society uh defines it
You know that from me as normal right
So just people that just want to get a job and have family
Or just try to get through life and live well
But they dont really know what theyre doing
Or they dont its not that clear
嗯um
But i found that
These different people that are living differently
And they have this amazing ability to create their own path
And to create successful path
That are that no one else has ever created before
And theres nobody in front of them
And theyre able to navigate through chaotic world and create value
And my hope is of course that these ignit and to enable more people to be like that to transition from being a normal person
Who is just try to get buy
And maybe a being afraid of chaos and changed the world to transition youd to being somebody that is confident
That you can acactually create path
That not just fits you
But also adds value to the world
What i found in the insights is that i found a twelve distinct traits
And then thrive individuals have that most normal dont
And i want to bring light to those traits
That those are actually important for us to have
And then
Of course i liinted to ten development experiences
Experiences
That you should have experiraing up
They should be experilited of
Of who you are from a baby through childhood
Through anallessons
Through a doulghod
These are experiences that actually grow those twelve traits
And thats what i found through
Through this research
And thats what my podcasting is
And so it gets the question about why podcasting you know
And you ask me before you know what i blog again
And the reality is that you know um after i did this research
I ask myself
And i ask my team
What is the best way to have this stuff disseminated
And what is the best way to put this in the hands of people
I thought a long time i read a book
Because i have enough to to have a book
But the reality is that people dont read books today
And i thought you know how about blogging
But the reality is that very few
Is that read a lot of from book today
Theyre just reading short snipatian
There
But this stuff is really rich
And i
And i was trying
But what is the media format that can deliver rich things in a way that fits peoples lives
And of course i was specifically focused on my target audience
My target audience
They
People that should be listening
This are basbasicyyounpeople as well as people that are in relationships about to get married
So
So why they are married
And try to form family
So know yknow dont can imagine yg people
You know young professionals
People getting married
And people having families
What they dont have is time
And theyre very busy
Yeah
So i try to pick a format
They fit their lives
And that format is podcaast its both rich
I can cut up into small episodes
They can listen to it
While there doing ing
Other things like driving or getting up in the morning or stuff
And thats exactly what our metric sellace right
When we look at the podcast
And who listens
And when they listen
They listen the morning
When they get up
They listen that night
Before they go to sleep
They listen when theyre driving
So we know they are hading right
So thats why should be the forrives cause
And
And courcourse makes it easier
Because honestly im too busy to write a book
You know um
It was so much easier for me to set up a mike
And just open my mouth
And just let things flow
I mean this stuff because ive been doing for
For lemany years
And its so deeping me
So i can just open my mouth
I can just talk about it
And im thats privthe easiest way in the quickest way
So um thats why i did
I recorded in the span of just a uh mother too i recorded all the original episodes
So about twenty five episodes
So i was the original content
All the the key insize the keylers
And i record them all
And so now i have a team
Thats cutting it and polishing in a little bit and releasing it and in a tiny manner
And as ive been doing that uh i now have a chinese partner who was actually taking my podcast and doing the chinese version
Of course in the hopes to spread to more people especially here in china
So we now have a chinese and the english version of the same thing
And and so the original content that still now been released for releasing one two oppoodes per week um in chinese in english
And after we finish the original were onna be then producing new content
And our new content will be um really more stories
And
And py people land and answer the questions about because can we usually this stuff to their life day day day
Especially here in china
Ina kevin
Just
Just wer the question tion and try thasked a lot of new question and reanswer
You know so all the question
I want to asking the first place
But this
This very
Very compleacactually i was defintely tely ong the
The earliest audience who tried thrive as soon it was
Was leeased
And we was fascinated by how specific and how analytical
It is because its just it talks a lot of different things
That we
We may ignore on a daily basis
Because we dont usually make observations
And dont usually see through this so peoples behavior or our own behaviors
When we are live here in chlife
Its very insightful
Actually
You know production wise kevin just benefited a lot from the democratic feature of poccast as a medium
He just spontaneously recorded you know every ephisothat you can imagine on his phone in a very spontaneousway
So i think its just amazing for
For our peers
You know young peoples even to get to know this
Because a lot of things
Things especially
Life lessons are not acquired on coursara were on you know other you know which hat like subscription accounts or a bble influencers
You cant learn that through these channels
Sometimes you just need people to give you some hints
And then you need to reflect on yourself in a very challenging
In a very difficult
In a In a
In a very demanding way
I mean this is something thats probably we need to figure out ourselves
So thats my
My first hand feedback after listening to threat we
We
Sometimes we do a lot of things
But we we
We lack thinking
We dont think that hard
Equally
So its just very hard for us to figure out
Yes
I am still not successful
Why other peoples are successful
We
We cant just focus on the surface
So h everything is nenected
Yeah Yes
Exactly what i felt you know
Listening to
Of course
Lots of uh start up podcast or business poadcast
Legal pocast
As well is for example course
Sarah and stup everytaltalabout all these skills
Ls know like how to give a speech or how a network
Or how did you know whatever like they talk all these hard ssls ls ii found that there was deep gap
But that deep gap is the fundamental one
Which is 是有what makes you
You
What builds your motivation how do you get up in the morning
And how do what drives you
And you know how to design your drive
And what are the pillars of who you are
I just found that theres specilittle out there outside of for example faith base podcast
But theres nothing that is secular or neutral ground that can speak everybody
And so i wanted to do that in my deepest hopes in this podcast are to give people hope and to give people encouragement
Because what i found some the key findings
And this podcast is you know especially with all the amazing people i meet
It doesnt take take lot lot of money
It doesnt take a lot of money to raise a great young person
It doesnt take high super high q to be successful in life
It doesnt take all the apportas
That
That nobody else that is not only those people that become successful
You susucceful
But the question is
嗯
Do you know how and making success is starts from it always start an ends with
Do you know yourself and so thats what this policus is done
Its just to give people hope in this crazy changing perspective world
To know that
Youre going to find not just a direction
But also find thriving find to know how way of life that works through you yes you know and through your own sufer relections
And so you h thats actually what it is um and like the people
I listen to
I add want andifferent different lenses
And And
And layers
Onto way
I talk about from a chron logical perspective
I talk about from a sociological perspective
I talk about from a behavior and environmental perspective
Um you know
I have know and of course a psychological perspective
To help us really understand the mechanics
But also find really understacand
And to give us loloical perspective
How are built and if theres something that 嗯
Wasnt built well we can go back and change it or fix it the realities that most of us
Us just just outoutcome of our experiences
And those outcomes are out of control
We never had any control or design on those experiences
And
And were just a product of that
But what im trying to say here is
And what i saw from everybody that i met in the research
That you have every opportunity and every chance to go back and tinker with yourself
To change yourself and to work through things
And then you
Your
Your ic so that it gets better and better
And then that way you get stronger and stronger
You get smarter
Smarty get sharper and sharper
And thats when you can forge away for yourself forward
Yes
So basically we can listen to this poccast
And use it as a assessment wall at least
Thats so i mean thats one of the yeah
Thats the very basic
Thats right objective that we can
We can gain through uh through listening to
To thrive
So um
And also i know that um m uthologies trying to organize different kinds of like workshops um alongside releasing this popkcbut the worworkshop is more targeted at parents
And you know are people or young people
Who are uh curious to learn more about parenting
Parenting is such a big issue in china
Its a massive
And heres a thing like if we just look on the demographics right china is not just getting older
But we are facing a major
Major drop in in a fertility right massive drop
And thats not just uh an economic issue
Thats a fundamental issue
Like we dont have people actually in china
And thats not just china actually
This is having all of the world
Yes
Ah and again its because young people do not all they see are all the negatives with having children and having families
And nobody ys talking about what the positive are
And also no ones talking about how you can actually face all those podon code negative things
Thats this podcast actually expores
And these so those things and finds that theres completely different ways of looking at families and building families and setting up the next generation for success
Thats my hope to set up every next generation for success
Thats why im in nethothology
Thats i came to china to help and to be part of setting up generations for better success
I think apart from uh current released episodes im still looking forward to more different you know styles or different formats of perfect or its related content
And because think its definfintely tely need more time i mean takes time innonovation
And also out of riit
Its just just like proprocess is says you know everything is just innovor so know an something lewe can resperct ct mean an know i leararned from dan carland
Right he started ted long long o and hehis listenership was like tiny
And its just slowly build over it
And of course then hes build a business
It you know so again if you
If you know innovation
If you
If you practial innovation
Like we do
That were professional innovation
Connovation
So we understand a timelit takes for innovation
And also not just that were also cultural innovators
So we understand the timeline and takes for cuculal change
And need
Need learn epatience
And you need to take a long road and uthology
We have organized ourselves uh
And we continually organizze ourselves around key social movements
That we believe are important for the future of this next eration ation for country
Country for the world
And what we do is we take a thought leadership to those social movements
And then we find innovation space for brands and companies to be involved as well as indifordual to also come and to create together and coggate together
And so you
You know this
This
This podcast is just the starting of one specific area
And a specific area talking king is
Is exexactly what we mentioned is exfuture
Family
Future
Education
Future of sufreflection
Future of
And we people learn to build life in a costly changing vironment
Ybe be the indiformaof like freelance lelevement its all related
And so this is what were talking about this new movement on things like how do you educate yourself in a world brothers too much information
And what is the information that you should be spending time
And and and things like how do you build a social unit
Thats family or maybe its beyond just family
Were not just talking about classic nuclear families
Here like theres not just a mother
Father and a kid
Were talking about any partners coming together or people that are adopting you know caregivers or even educators or talking king about anyone that finds themselves responsible for young pertoday in some way or influencing on person someway um
And thats a domain of space
And that theres a movement
There theres
Theres so much innovation
Thats needed
When it comes to how familys existence society or now young people are educated today one h or how we find our past
And thats
Thats
What this whole things right now we can all grasp something out of each episode
That we recommend ded there though seeseeset that we
We cover different thems and styles or different even edustries
But everything is really relevant one another
Yeah
Its just about what kevin has been repeating in this episode
A lot of key conconcepfor for example innovation
For example self value
For example persistance
For example persevilians
These where i very the critical to king and to me and probably to a lot of audience out there here we are curious to figure out
Where we are going yeah in exmodern
Thats where we are heading like its my like as much as i talk about history stuff
Actually im extremely future orient you call me a podcaster
Thats a title call me
Me on my links in page
Itll say that im a future ous um and actually thats what i spend my time thinking
But which is what is the future loolike like
And when i look at the future
Of course
And looking yet the signals that we have today um
Where i find the key stuff
Actually im working on stuff like this
Ah just want want um help each of us create a better future
Not just for ourselves before each other
And we have to start from the fundamentals
If we dont review our fundamentals
Theres not any technology or any new product that will build a fix it in the end
Its about me you and how we relate together
Yes i think a good beginning
Would be listening to the pocast
That my kevin has been recommending and especially checking out his own poccast cothrife
