The Road - Ciara Sidine
Closed my eyes fell into a dream
The things I saw I can't take back
There was fire in the skies ashes in the stream
My eyes averted to the bloody track
There was a road of shadow and shine
Held the promise of better things coming
Said there are many ways to walk the line
There are many ways
To keep running
And oh this is the road
Oh this is the road
I was stopped in my tracks and caught blind side
Between the devil and the deep sea
Down on my luck and no place to hide
Asked my mother there to guide me
Asked my mother to be my guide
She had walked this way long before me
Turned every trick seen every side
Held each heart that's beaten there before me
She said oh this is the road
Oh this is the road
Oh the rains fell hard and they fell so long
Washed away the trace from the dusted tracks
But the road is wide and it claims it's own
In the stain of the glory that you can't take back
And we walk to wash away
The stain of the glory you'd seen undone
Said there are many ways of doing time
There are many ways to chase freedom
And oh this is the road oh this is the road
Oh this is the road oh this is the road
