I saw the tears fall but I turned away,

Told myself lies just to get through the day.

Every “I’m fine” was a silent scream,

And I was the villain in your bad dream.

Now your tears replay in my head at night,

Every shaky breath, every lonely cry.

I should’ve held you, should’ve stayed,

But I chose my ego and watched you fade.

You deserved a safe place, not broken trust,

I gave you pain when you gave me us.

If sorry could heal what my silence destroyed,

You wouldn’t remember me as the reason you cried.
