Neon spills across the window pane
My heart drifts back to rural lanes
Winding trails meander through the fields
Evening air with wild green scents reveals
With a pack on back I roamed afar
Old courtyard walls still leave their mark
Years of wandering through distant lands
Homesickness tints my hair with frosty strands
Through wind and frost for miles I’ve trod
My heart still clings to childhood sod
In dreams I stand beneath the old roof beam
And breathe the wisp of cottage steam
The bright moon glows on alien lands
I yearn for bygone hometown strands
Green hills abide, small streams still flow
The warmth of home I ever know
I send my longing toward the distant sky
This fond remembrance shall never die
Half a life adrift, I glance behind
My roots forever dwell where I was born
Though city streets with joy resound
No song compares to hometown sound
Beside the house the old trees stand
Recalling days I chased the winged band
The farther I stray, the lonelier my soul
Old cares and fond memories take their toll
Fair as strange lands may ever beMy dreams still linger o’er my native lea
The bright moon glows on alien lands
I yearn for bygone hometown strands
Green hills abide, small streams still flow
The warmth of home I ever know
I send my longing toward the distant sky
This fond remembrance shall never die
Half a life adrift, I glance behind
My roots forever dwell where I was born
Winds traverse miles, yet home stays in my breast
Moon shines eternal, I yearn for my rest
