Roses (Alternative Version)

A rose dies petal by petal

But all of them settle so sweetly

A girl cries heartache on heartache

And how can't her

Heart break completely?

Ohcan't all this evil be undone?

Even if he is not the one?

Do the roses come

Back in the spring

Or do they just wilt and die?

I thought that love

Was a beautiful thing

Then why does it make us cry?

A bird flies free in the wind

And its freedom would

Fool you sweetly

The sun dies every day

And it leaves you

In darkness completely

Do the roses come

Back in the spring

Or do they just wilt and die?

I thought that love

Was a beautiful thing

Then why does it make us cry?

Do the storms settle after the rain?

And will the fledgling fly?

And do the clouds break

For sunshine again?

Does love really never die?

(Come back to me)

(Come back to me)

(Please come back to me)

(Come back to me)

Do the roses come

Back in the spring

Or do they just wilt and die?

I thought that love

Was a beautiful thing

Then why does it make us cry?
