Dear Dad

As I sit here waiting patiently

still no tears have arrived.

My emotions are broken,

severely fractured

but still no tears have arrived.

Ironically you would be proud of this emotional malfunction within me,

confusing it for masculine strength.

So as I sit here

Thinking of you

I whisper gently to myself

I would cry if I knew how.
