Dirigisme (We Gotta Move)

I woke up to a headline

Didn't understand a word

"Dirigisme is rising"

Like a whisper I just heard

It's got the world spinning

Like a compass with no nor

Says we should push it forth

It's not in the dictionary

But it's written in the stars

Feels like revolution

Wrapped in neon scars

No one knows the meaning

But we're chanting in

And it's got us on our feet

Dirigisme, we gotta move

Even if we don't know what it proves

It's the rhythm in our bones

It's the signal in our phones

Dirigisme, we gotta try

Even if we don't know why

It's the fire in our soul

Let's make it our goal

I asked my neighbor

She just shrugged and said"It's big"

My teacher drew a diagram

Looked kinda like a fig

The mayor made a speech

Said"It's time to take a stand"

So I grabbed my boots

And joined the marching band

It's not in the textbooks

But it's written on the wall

Feels like something massive

Though it might be nothing at all

No one's got the answers

But we're dancing in the rain

Dirigisme is rising

And it's driving us insane

Dirigisme, we gotta move

Even if we don't know what it proves

It's the rhythm in our bones

It's the signal in our phones

Dirigisme, we gotta try

Even if we don't know why

It's the fire in our soul

Let's make it our goal

Maybe it's a dream

Maybe it's a scheme

Maybe it's the future

Bursting at the seams

But I feel it in the air

And I see it in your eyes

Dirigisme is something

We can't compromise

Dirigisme, we gotta move

Even if we don't know what it proves

It's the rhythm in our bones

It's the signal in our phones

Dirigisme, we gotta try

Even if we don't know why

It's the fire in our soul

Let's make it our goal

Dirigisme Dirigisme

We don't know what it means

But it feels like a dream

Dirigisme Dirigisme

Let's act like it's real

Let's follow the theme
