Dinner Before the Sun Goes Down

An hour before sunset I walked back to the beach again

Because there are some places

That only become beautiful at the end of the day

Barefoot Beach Cafe was waiting beside the water

The same small tables, the same ocean breeze

But everything looked different now

The light was softer, warmer, slower

I ordered the BBQ chicken plate

And a pineapple smoothie cold in my hands

The waves were rougher than they had been that morning

And the sea looked darker, deeper, more alive

해가 지기 전 이 시간 이곳은 정말 특별해져

The sky slowly turned from blue to gold

Then gold to orange, then orange to red

People around me stopped talking

As if everyone knew this moment should be quiet

Dinner before the sun goes down

At the edge of Waikiki and the sea

The food is good, but the view is unforgettable

A sunset so beautiful it almost doesn't seem real

붉게 물든 노을 아래 파도가 더 크게 들려와

And somewhere between the city and the ocean

I felt completely at peace I remembered the breakfast

I had here Garlic shrimp, eggs, bacon, coffee in the morning light

That slow and peaceful beginning to the day

And now this perfect ending beside the same water

From my table I could see Waikiki Beach

The city stretching behind the palms

The first lights appearing in the buildings

While the sun disappeared beyond the horizon

바다 바로 앞에서 바라본 도시와 해변 그 장면을 평생 잊지 못할 것 같아

No camera could really keep it

Because it was too wide, too warm, too alive

The pineapple smoothie was sweet and cold

The chicken smelled like smoke and summer

But somehow all I could think about

Was how lucky I was to be here

To sit in this little place beside the ocean

Watching the last light touch the water

And knowing that tomorrow I would want to come back again

That will always be my favorite Hawaii memory

The rough waves, the red sky, the city lights

And the small table beside the beach
