Folded Like a Smile

You always fold your notes so neat

Edges sharp, your secret beat

Leave it by my cup of tea

Like a whisper just for me

You don’t say the words out loud

But your quiet makes me proud

You speak in corners, bends, and creases

Still, I find the warmest pieces

I don’t need the world to know

Where your softest colors show

Folded like a smile, so small

Yet it holds me through it all

You don’t shout or write in bold

But your heart is finely told

In a shape that takes its time

In the curve that meets with mine

No big gestures, just your style—

Folded gently like a smile

No headline, no bright lights

Just your paper love in bites

Every crease becomes a beat

Where I find you, soft and sweet

You don’t even plan the while—

But you fold me in a smile
