The Empty Swing Set

The empty swing set sways, in the gentle evening air

A silent testament, to a love beyond compare

We spent our summer days, beneath the willow's shade

Two souls forever bound, a love that would not fade

The empty swing set, a reminder of our youth

A first love's innocence, a testament to truth

I see your smiling face, in every creaking chain

The empty swing set, whispering your name again

We soared towards the heavens, with laughter in our eyes

And dreamt of endless futures, beneath the summer skies

A gentle push, a promise whispered low

A love that seemed eternal, a seed we watched to grow

The empty swing set, a reminder of our youth

A first love's innocence, a testament to truth

I see your smiling face, in every creaking chain

The empty swing set, whispering your name again

Now rust has claimed the metal, and time has taken hold

But in my heart, the memory, will never grow old

The empty swing set stands, a symbol of the past

A love that still endures, a bond that's meant to last

The empty swing set, a reminder of our youth

A first love's innocence, a testament to truth

I see your smiling face, in every creaking chain

The empty swing set, whispering your name again

Your name again... whispered on the breeze.

The empty swing set sways, beneath the silent trees.
