The day opens without asking
What I plan to do
It stretches wide in front of me
Unclaimed and new
I don’t grip the hours tightly
I let them move ahead
There’s a freedom in not choosing
What hasn’t been said
I watch the light change slowly
Across the wall
Time feels less like something
I could lose at all
Every moment feels borrowed
But not in debt
I don’t try to keep the day
I let it set
Nothing here belongs to me
And somehow that feels safe
This is the day, unheld
Moving through my hands
I don’t shape it into meaning
I don’t make a plan
This is the day, unheld
And so am I
Learning how to walk
Without asking why
I think of all the things I chase
Then smile and let them go
Not every step needs direction
To know
The air feels light around me
Like it understands
Some days are meant to pass
Unclaimed
If I hold on later
That’s fine too
Right now I trust
What moves me through
This is the day, unheld
And I stay open
