Both their daddies worked the factory had the same raising up

But Johnny had some demons buried deep beneath his soul

And took it out on Billy this is how the story goes

It started with a joke about his haircut and his clothes

Til Billy sat there everyday just eating lunch alone

But Johnny never let up never ran out of jokes to tell

Til the walls of that ole school turned into Billy’s living hell

Sometimes the worst of evil’s hidden right there in plain sight

It’s hard to see the darkness till it’s brighter than the light

Johnny went to college found a girl and got a job

Had some babies built a big house on a 40 acre lot

Billy stuck around that sleepy town and turned to pills

He never found his way back to the smile that Johnny killed
