[00:00.48]L.A. Blues - Tom T. Hall
[00:01.83]
[00:09.53]I got off the airplane 'long about 7:30 in LA
[00:13.90]
[00:15.70]What a drag to realize that
[00:17.95]Everything's so different and so same
[00:20.27]
[00:21.80]All my California friends are
[00:23.87]Searching for their minds
[00:25.28]
[00:25.96]And it's been right there in their heads all the time
[00:28.59]
[00:29.64]LA blues LA blues you want me to be
[00:35.92]Like you ha ha there ain't no way
[00:38.68]
[00:42.31]California Charlie met me at
[00:44.85]My room when I got in
[00:46.62]
[00:48.10]We toasted country picking and
[00:50.27]The help of all our good and mutual friends
[00:52.77]
[00:54.37]Before the morning came
[00:55.82]We put a handle on the world
[00:58.34]And decided that we'd give it to the squirrels
[01:01.30]
[01:02.27]LA blues LA blues you want me to be
[01:08.56]Like you ha ha there ain't no way
[01:11.38]
[01:23.06]Soaking up that sunshine and
[01:25.31]Eatin' eggs and bacon over light
[01:27.40]
[01:29.17]Sleeping through the daytime and
[01:31.56]Contemplatin' sin thru'out the night
[01:33.69]
[01:35.32]Please hand me my hat and darling
[01:37.68]Give me back my things
[01:38.94]
[01:39.45]Ole T's got a bunch of songs to sing
[01:42.27]
[01:43.22]LA blues LA blues you want me to be
[01:49.57]Like you ha ha there ain't no way
[01:52.39]
[01:55.74]I like California and I wouldn't
[01:58.08]Want to put it down no way
[02:00.51]
[02:01.73]But I heard what you're thinking and
[02:03.83]It ain't exactly what I want to say
[02:06.33]
[02:07.86]Someday California I'll come roarin' back to you
[02:11.35]
[02:11.90]If you don't fall in the ocean before I do
[02:14.99]
[02:15.85]LA blues LA blues you want me to be
[02:22.12]Like you ha ha there ain't no way
