Set the table in the courtyard

Silent movie black and white

We developed in a dark room

Came to focus out of sight

But certain things just never die

I could feel you in my life

A flower blooming in reverse

Light pollution in the sky

While you held the midwifes hand

Picture how you used to stand

In my doorway, backed by light

By the kitchen sink at night

Limbs all tangled in the sheets

The way the years have chipped away

They were crawling on their bellies

New years eve & Christmas day

I always hoped the gust of wind
