(The drums enter—a classic, slow"boom-wack" ballad beat. An acoustic guitar strums along with the piano.) (Full Band kicks in. Electric guitars play power chords. Distortion is on, but warm.) Don’t let the monsters get to you They’re just shadows passing through! (The emotional high point. It starts slow and bluesy, imitating a crying voice, then climbs up the neck into a high, screaming crescendo that holds a single note for four bars.)
(Music drops out abruptly. Just the singer and the bass drum thumping like a heartbeat.) They are under the bed... They are inside your head... But they are dead, yeah they are dead... (Scream) GET OUT OF MY HEAD!
(Everything louder than everything else. Crash cymbals everywhere. The singer is belting at the top of their range.) DON'T LET THE MONSTERS GET TO YOU! THEY'RE JUST SHADOWS PASSING THROUGH! AS LONG AS I AM STANDING HERE THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO FEAR!
