They called it the Far East
A place where the food makes strangers smile before they even learn each other's names
A place where cherry blossoms fall like the sky decided to dance
A place where enemies sit down long enough to forget they're enemies
They called it paradise
They called it the Golden Country, but nobody measured its wealth in gold. They measured it in another bowl of ramen when you weren't hungry anymore. Another drink quietly poured into your glass before you asked. Somebody saving you the last piece because they wanted you to have it. Kids chasing fireworks through warm summer nights while old songs echoed down the street. Nobody was in a hurry to become somebody else. They were too busy enjoying the night they already had
Funny
The world kept looking west
While paradise was already waiting in the east
They called it the Far East
A place where the food makes strangers smile before they even learn each other's names
A place where cherry blossoms fall like the sky decided to dance
A place where enemies sit down long enough to forget they're enemies
They called it paradise
Then I picked up a globe and started turning it. Keep turning. Farther. Farther. Keep going. See what happens? The Far East keeps moving until one day... it lands right here. Maybe paradise was never a place waiting to be found. Maybe it's something people decide to build together. One meal. One laugh. One beat. One night at a time
Don't chase paradise
Build it
Right here
Right now
With these people
With this sound
With my voice
They called it the Far East
A place where the food makes strangers smile before they even learn each other's names
A place where cherry blossoms fall like the sky decided to dance
A place where enemies sit down long enough to forget they're enemies
They called it paradise
The earth is round
So the Far East of the Far East
Is standing exactly where you are
Now it's your turn
Make this place paradise
