Moss

There was no moss on our shoes,

We couldn’t stay still for long enough.

But one day I sat down,

And for the life of me,

I couldn’t get back up.

Now here I sit,

The moss restrains my shoes in silence.

All I can do from here is hold you, as you were.

We danced til we fell down,

Drank and then got up again,

Taking things we shouldn’t,

Cos we didn’t fear anything.

Climbed over the fence,

We jumped in skinny dipping;

The moon’s the only light you need

When you’re living in the minute.

I remember dropping E with you,

Yeah we stuck together like glue.

We chainsmoked out the window

And that moment, it will never leave me.

You said you loved me;

I always wondered in what way.

We brushed it off and kissed, 

In the way you do when you feel a rush.

We danced til we fell down,

Drank and then got up again,

Cos we didn’t fear anything.
