hat should I do today? (oh yeah)
Let me sprinkle some spice on this boring routine
At the cafe I'll ask the barista
"Can you draw a dinosaur in my latte art please?"
My friends all say"Here you go again"
But this stuff is fun, so what can I say?
Giving up my seat to elders on the bus (so sweet)
"I'm getting off soon anyway" with a little wink
Adults tell me to live more seriously
"You need to grow up" they nag me all day
But from what I see the world's too rigid
Can't we live a little more playfully? (come on!)
Life is like a playground to me
Every single day feels like a brand new game
With little pranks and one warm word
I'm changing the world bit by bit
Who says growing up means being serious? (not me!)
I wanna live like this my whole life
The world seen through innocent eyes
Is still beautiful enough for me
When I'm checking out at the grocery store
"How was your day today?" I ask them
At first people seem a bit confused
But then they smile and answer back
Adults say don't talk to strangers
"Be careful" they tell me to stay alert
But when I smile brightly first
The world smiles back at me too
Life is like a playground to me
Every single day feels like a brand new game
With little pranks and one warm word
I'm changing the world bit by bit
Who says growing up means being serious?
I wanna live like this my whole life
The world seen through innocent eyes
Is still beautiful enough for me
(Ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh)
People say"the world is harsh"
All you see on the news are scary things
But most of the people that I've met
Were kind and warm at heart
Maybe I'm too naive (who knows?)
But I choose to believe
The world is just as warm and fun
As I imagine it to be
Life is still a playground to me
Even when I turn twenty I won't change
With little pranks and one warm word
I'm changing the world bit by bit
They say I should be more realistic
But what's so scary about reality?
The world seen through innocent eyes
Is really really beautiful
