Even when there's nothing more to give

The powers want to strip you clean

A charge for every breath to live

You're either a have-it or a have not

But the political campaign is way off

They call this civil liberty

The chance to live in peace

The so-called advocates for the poor

Invent new taxes that’s for sure

Crushing burden weighs us down

Minors feed the major clowns

Down to zero - streets will be drenched in red

Down to zero - until there’s nothing left

An end to poverty? Only if you pay up first

Useful thoughts are always dispersed

Pay the fee and keep your soul

As hope dissolves in a black hole

There’s a price for everything

Nothing’s for free - nothing, nothing

There’s even a fee for our skin

The very skin that we walk in

Expect the unexpected - just wait and see

It's not about who we are

It's about what we should have

To elevate our purpose in life

And the mindless collection of assets

No escape from the wheel of drudgery
