I was looking through some pictures that I found in my room
Time machines that take you back to the places you once knew
And I remembered all the things that I used to care about
And I realised that they have faded they don't matter to me now
They are just moments in a lifetime that I'll never understand
Just a glance across a room a cigarette burn on my hand
Just a second of conversation on a sunday afternoon
Or a kiss on a bridge after its been raining in june
Maybe I got older maybe I can't see
Or maybe I just realised that I want to be free

Playgrounds look like prisons that they are after you leave school
And ex'es look like angels day before they flew
You get caught up with the roasting the glasses on the wall
And you remember what they look like but not what they were called
Cuz they will steal away your smile on a autumn monday morning
They will hate you they will R**e you they will punish you without warning
Till you standing on a stage and you are blinded by the lights
You search for signs of goodness but you are binded by your sight
And maybe I got scared and gave in to the disease
And maybe I just realised that I want to be free

Now morning is slowly coming as the pictures gather dust
As the light dances with chemicals but there is no need to rush
We'll just sit here for a while until we are ready to go back
We'll stick our fingers up in time so the horizons gain fat
But I will take something with me which I could never have found
We will carry on going forwards in those directions that we were bound
So I thank you little photographs for giving me a sign
Now it think I will have to burn you
Just in case you change your mind
And maybe I got older or maybe I can't see

We are not leaving any doorways we are not loosing any speed
But if we die tommorow at least we got what we need

It takes us all different times to recover from school
But if they ever get their mansons
Yes I am sure I will shake their hands
But I think ill be content drawing pictures in the sand
And as for all these photographs that are lying on the floor
Yes I will burn them in the morning cuz I don't need them anymore
And maybe ill miss them in time I will see
