Lying in the long grass,
Taller than our eyes.
Crickets singing triplets,
A moment out of time.
Funny to speak about our whole lives,
When it’s never the same way twice,
Like the changing light,
Shifting in your eyes,
Cerulean blue,
Turquoise hues of you and I.
You feel different now,
I’m ready to be surprised.
Now we’re sanctified,
With sapphires and butterflies.
Like those peaks of glaciers,
We also rise and fall.
From what we know now,
We can make it through it all.
Funny to speak about our whole lives,
When it’s never felt this right,
Like the changing light,
Shifting in your eyes,
Cerulean blue,
Turquoise hues of you and I.
You feel different now,
I’m ready to be surprised.
Now we’re sanctified,
With sapphires and butterflies.
Sapphires and butterflies.
Sapphires and butterflies.
Sapphires and butterflies.
