Chasing After Daylight

(Verse 1)

Used to live my life in shades of gray

Every lonely song felt the same old way

The city lights were just a distant hum

Waiting for a change that wouldn't come

(Pre-Chorus)

Then you walked in, a flicker in the dark

A single word that was a brand new start

You found the rhythm in my heavy feet

You turned the bitter into something sweet

(Chorus)

And now we're chasing after daylight

Dancing like we'll never need the night

You make the silence feel like music

Yeah, you make the silence feel like music

Got my heart beating in a different key

You rewrote every broken part of me

Now we're chasing after daylight

Yeah, you and I, we're chasing after daylight

(Verse 2)

Remember driving with the windows down?

The quiet streets of this sleepy town

Felt like the world was waking up with us

Finding beauty in the fading dust

(Pre-Chorus)

'Cause you walked in, a color in the frame

A whispered promise when you said my name

You found the rhythm in my heavy feet

You turned the bitter into something sweet

(Chorus)

And now we're chasing after daylight

Dancing like we'll never need the night

You make the silence feel like music

Yeah, you make the silence feel like music

Got my heart beating in a different key

You rewrote every broken part of me

Now we're chasing after daylight

Yeah, you and I, we're chasing after daylight

(Bridge)

All the ghosts that used to follow me

Are just echoes in a memory

You gathered up the pieces on the floor

And showed me what my heart was beating for

(Chorus)

And now we're chasing after daylight

Dancing like we'll never need the night

You make the silence feel like music

Yeah, you make the silence feel like music

Got my heart beating in a different key

You rewrote every broken part of me

Now we're chasing after daylight

Yeah, you and I, we're chasing after daylight

(Outro)

The silence feels like music…

With you…

Chasing after daylight…

Yeah, the silence feels like music.
