Memories like melodies are my favorite song
With roots, deepest rivers.
Reflecting on how far we came along,
Remembering when, and then wondering why
But with our eyes closed and blind to the bs, we danced to the rhythm.
Life gave us looking for a ribbon in the sky
It was ribs on the grill, smoke in the air
The crabs was by the radio, and the cake was next to the pie
A couple cases in the cooler
We get together, I can't think of nothing cooler
But with the kids, the years ran by
It was fun
Rum mixing, reminiscing
We laugh so hard sometimes we cry
I guess shallow disagreements lead to distance seasons and
We got some over here and some over there for different reasons
It just stopped and we went forward so fast.
I didn't see these times.
I'd press pause to repeat if I can rewind it.
Truth is it ain't lost, but we still gotta go find it
It ain't for the faint
Because you gotta give up some stuff on the inside
That you thought you can't
Now I'm gonna be there when you fall,
And that's what you call family, y'all.
So be that or beat trapped
Because the family is where freedom is at
Time heals all wounds
Rock, Paper, Denim
The world will know
