Sahâb ishni hammamiz qiladurmiz qilamiz

(We all did and do good things)

Lek sahâb keti yoq tubi yoqdir, tubi yoq

(But good doesn't have a meaning; it doesn't give anything back)

Dunya yalghân dunyadir, qollarida tâsh kordim

(The world is a deceptive world. In people's hands, I saw only stones)

Haqiqatning, pâklikning kozlarida yâsh kordim

(I saw tears in the eyes of those who stood for justice and purity)

Dunya yalghân dunyadir bilmam tushmi ruyadir

(This world is a deceptive world. I don't know whether it's a dream or reality)

Mehmânlari bir-birin kozlarini oyadir

(We who are guests in this world gouge out one another's eyes)
