I Am Not a Man – Tami Nora & Uriel Weinberger
God Our Father, Oh why
Don’t I have the right to pray Birkat Ha-Kohanim ?
To my children ,
In Yom Ha-Kiporim ?
In my community - in front of All the world ?
I am not a Man; I just say Amen .
Our Mother ,
Will I have the privilege to speak these holy words?
Will they believe me when I say -
Do I have the right to bless my people?
I am not a Man; I just say Amen .
I am a woman, and yet,
Wish all the children the best in my Birkat Ha-Kohanot .
And I know that
God prays with me ,
Just as he promises ,
We always look toward the light .
I have the right to bless my people :
I am Not a Man ,
Still my prayer has remained ,
God, please deliver us .
