I awoke this morning
On the wrong side of the bed
Feeling self entitled
To this cloud above my head
Feeling so alone
Like nobody understands
Like I'am the only one
Who lost the upper hand
You give rest to the weary hearted
I welter in my shame
Peace an rest is but an inch away
But I wear my badge of pain
It all comes down to this
Will I enter in
Or will I paint myself the victim
And throw this weight upon my skin
Peace like a river is flowing by
Will I wade in
Love like an ocean
I'm on the ledge
Will I Jump in
And let your peace
Soak my bones
Dernch my body
Anoint these sores
Cleanse my mind
Untie these knots
Renew my spirit
Baptize my thoughts
I awoke this morning
On the wrong side of my bed
Feeling justified in anger
With a look that could behead
I let my sense of justice take me
To a place I have no bounds
It's on this false assumption
That my mind is bound
You give rest to the weary hearted
I welter in my shame
Peace and rest is but an inch away
But I wear my badge of pain
It all comes down to this
Will I enter in
Or will I paint myself the victim
And throw this weight upon my skin
