One day the earth opened up and
A brand new star was born
And told she couldn’t shine above the world
As time went on with nothing fitting
She did the best she could
Pretending she was happy in the dark
She always knew that something's missing
Her heart screaming with no one listening
Some things are just needed from the start
And it’s about time
For the best year of your life
The one that you’ve been waiting for
And it’s about time
To leave it all behind
And just you wait for what’s in store
Behind you may be darkness
So your future shines as bright as the stars
The higher that she tried to climb, the further she would fall
Until she wished she’d never climbed at all
Tired and numb from all the pain, they told her time would heal
But all her wounds they only turned to scars
She always knew that something's missing
Her heart screaming with no one listening
Some things are just needed from the start
And it’s about time
For the best year of your life
The one that you’ve been waiting for
And it’s about time
To leave it all behind
And just you wait for what’s in store
Behind you may be darkness
So your future shines as bright as the stars
When it hurts that you’re healing your heart
Just know that I know the person you are
And when things start to look dark,
Please don’t stop sharing your heart
It’s the light that is shinning from you
And it’s about time
For the best year of your life
The one that you’ve been waiting for
I won't be far behind
Everything will be alright
And just you wait for what's in store
For the best year of your life
The one that you’ve been waiting for
The best year of your life
The one that you’ve been waiting for
Everything will be alright
The one that you’ve been waiting for
Behind you may be darkness
So your future shines as bright as the stars
(Your future shines as bright as the stars)
