거리의 시인들 - Skinny Chase/DJ Vamos
Lyrics by：Skinny Chase
Composed by：Skinny Chase
Once upon a time not long ago
When Gonzo was a kid with no money to show
Before Supreme Team had the corporate beef
When Sean2slow's album was the next to release
Chase shy of 20 was a hip hop head
I met this other young
Rapper this is what he said
Me and you kid we gon make some beats
Dropping old folks with the musical heats
I said OK so what you got in mind
Cuz I'm an old
Schooler like the Land Before Time
Ain't no body about that primitive sxxx
I'm talking rappers with the jewels
And the strap on their hip
You know the bling bling
Ratatat clack and the click
S**t Imma get a couple models
And then smack em a bit
I should've listened to him
As Skinny Chase starts to figure
I'll do years of being penniless and bitter
So I pull down my hoodie
And walk around the block
Then my iPod shuffles to a classic beat drop
A joint by FANA showing love for the culture
Back when every single
Rapper rapped with a function
The Quiett was the Pete
Rock producing for Soul Com
Had to take a moment for my inner discussions
Yall flexing rappers go and break a leg
Cuz I'm stuck with Skinny Chase
Til I run out of breath'
Back when Garion was 3
Instead of 2 in appearance
Buddha was the crew for my sensitive feelings
The Four Microphones
At every karaoke session
But the greatest comeback was 845 Heaven
Would you look at the time
Kids long story short
I joined the military like 6 years ago
The worst decision ever made
Because I still regret it
But that's when I met a dude
Who also never made it
James my Monkey Bars teammate
Who is as pathetic as
I am but his s**t dope
Let's drop an album
Show them what we got
Our dedicated album turned out to be a flop
Believe it or not
I had to call the music quits
Way too many things on my life priority list
Go back to school and graduate for instance
Build a resume and get a job this instant
Slowly drift away like
I was loving long distance
The current stake of hip hop is none of my business
I still do music but I call it pedestrian
Cuz I don't give a d**n
My attitude is indifference
In other words I accept defeat
My other counterparts got more mouths to feed
Sid's musical career is d**n near deceased
Don't have to bump this
But respect it please
Don't have to bump this
But respect it please
Don't have to bump this
But respect it please
This ain't funny so don't you dare laugh
Just another case about the wrong path
Embrace the change or your soul gets cast
Good night
